In summer 2016, Sanni Huuskonen from KeuPa Hockey Team was selected as the first junior for the women’s U16 national ice hockey team during her first intensive training camp in Kuortane.
That was the beginning of her national team career. During the autumn season, Sanni has been sponsored on her national team camps by the Sports Committee of the City of Keuruu, Keuruu’s LähiTapiola and now also by Vaissi Oy. Vaissi’s sponsorship began at an apt moment, since during that camp Sanni played her first internationals in the starting lineup against France’s women, and Finland won the entire series of three games. Early this year, Sanni changed to a new team, Karstulan Kiva, because they were able to offer Sanni a higher-level position in Keskimaa’s AA and AAA series of her age. This meant a wistful goodbye to KeuPa HT, but the journey must proceed, like Sanni’s national team coaches desired. In February 2017, Sanni was selected from the women’s U16 national team to Kuortane Team. Next season, Sanni will play for the Finnish championship with the U16 Kuortane Team. Sanni’s hopes are high and heart is full of passion for ice hockey. Now that Finland’s women are celebrating their World Championship, it’s time to say thank you to all our supporters. Heartfelt thanks for the support from Sanni Huuskonen and her family!
